Bank of India Wants Experienced Credit Officers for 779 Posts — With Pay Up to ₹1.2 Lakh

BOI's Credit Officer Recruitment 2026 offers 779 posts with basic pay up to ₹1,20,940, restricted to banking professionals with prior credit experience.

Bank of India (BOI) is running one of its larger senior-hire recruitment drives this year, opening 779 Credit Officer posts under the General Banking Officer (GBO) Stream via Project No. 2026-27/01.

The breakdown across officer scales is 677 posts at MMGS-II, 61 at MMGS-III, and 41 at SMGS-IV, with 475 of the total representing unfilled seats carried forward from the bank’s earlier drive dated 1 November 2025.

This is a lateral-hire opportunity, not an entry-level one — freshers cannot apply. Candidates need a graduation degree with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) or an equivalent professional qualification such as CA, CMA-ICWA, CS or CFA, along with 3 to 8 years of credit, lending or risk-assessment experience at a Scheduled Commercial Bank, depending on scale.

Applications are open online at bankofindia.co.in from 30 June 2026 to 20 July 2026. Age eligibility is scale-specific — 25-32 years for MMGS-II, 28-38 for MMGS-III, and 32-45 for SMGS-IV as on 1 June 2026 — with the usual relaxation for reserved categories. Fees are ₹850 for General/EWS/OBC candidates and ₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Selection runs through an online examination and/or personal interview, weighted 70:30 between the two if both are conducted. This cycle’s exam has been trimmed to two sections — English Language (qualifying) and Professional Knowledge (merit-based) — for 125 marks in 120 minutes, with 0.25 marks deducted per incorrect answer.

The pay is the headline here: basic pay ranges from about ₹64,820 for MMGS-II up to ₹1,20,940 for SMGS-IV, plus DA, HRA and other perquisites. Selected officers must also put down a refundable security deposit — ₹2,00,000 for MMGS-II, ₹3,00,000 for MMGS-III/SMGS-IV — returned after three years of satisfactory service.
