6,000 square feet, 3rd in the world: Synchrony’s new Hyderabad bet on India

A nearly 6,000-square-foot facility at Synchrony’s Hyderabad campus is now the US financial services company’s largest global experience centre and innovation station anywhere, ahead of its two existing centres in the United States. The opening underscores India’s growing weight in Synchrony’s technology and enterprise strategy.

Inside, the experience centre functions as an immersive showcase: employees, customers and partners can move through interactive customer journeys and virtual reality demonstrations that put Synchrony’s health and wellness, home and auto, lifestyle, digital and diversified value platforms on display through real-world use cases, rather than slide decks.

Next to it sits an innovation station, where staff can work directly with emerging technologies, build prototypes, test ideas and join innovation challenges and hackathons. Synchrony said the pairing of the two spaces is meant to support collaboration, continuous learning and innovation that spans different teams.

Executive vice president and chief technology officer Florin Arghirescu tied the move to India’s talent pool, saying the investment reflects confidence in the country’s contributions to technology, AI and enterprise platforms.

Senior vice president and India country head Rachana Bahadur added that the centre has been designed for more than 6,000 colleagues, giving teams a way to connect their daily work to the impact it has on customers.
